The preparation meetings are for parents to receive the necessary catechesis so they can teach their children about these sacraments. 
It is recommended that Godparents are involved in the process and that they attend the reception of Holy Communion. 

We will hold parent sessions on the Third Saturday of each month from 9:00AM – 11:00AM (exception: the initial meeting is on Saturday 9/12/26 due to the Eucharistic Procession on the third Saturday that month). Sessions are for parents, we will send you home with the materials to work on with the children each month. 

Class dates: 9/12, 10/17, 11/21, 12/19, 1/16, 2/20, 3/20, 4/17 
First Communion date: 5/23/27 

Cost of materials are as follows:
(Scholarships available if this is cost prohibitive) 

$30 per child without purchase of a Children’s Bible
$60 per child with a purchase of a Children’s Bible

The Children’s Bible is recommended, as the program includes activities that encourage children to interact directly with their Bible using stickers, notes, and other personalizations,
making it a meaningful resource they can continue to use throughout their faith journey.

We will need a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate (with Parish seal) to be sent to us from the Parish where your child was baptized.
Please contact them and request the form to be mailed to OLV attention Larua Brand. If your child was baptized at OLV, please request the baptism form from the Parish Office.
